With an open mind, our surroundings are filled with influences from which to seek inspiration for a fashion collection. Some brands look to upcoming movies and music, other to architecture, reports from trend bureau’s or something else for inspiration. Because of our passion for protecting all the beautiful places on the planet, it is only natural that we, VILDNIS, find inspiration in countries with stunning scenery and a commitment to making the world a better place, socially and environmentally. For our Summer 19 capsule collection, we ventured to Denmark to seek inspiration, an obvious choice, some might say, since two of our co-founders are Danish.  I suspect that we would have eventually looked to the country of my birth regardless,...

Slow-Fashion versus Fast-Fashion

This year, Earth Overshoot Day was ”celebrated” on Wednesday the 2nd of August 2017, eight days earlier than last year.  This is the day when we have used more natural resources than the earth produces in a year. With five months until the year end, it means that we would need almost two planets to sustain our current living standards. Yikes...we had better get that Mars expedition going! Luckily there are lots of things we can do to move the date back again. One of them in to bring our consumption to a reasonable and responsible level. Anyone who has been to H&M, Primark or Zara will be familiar with the concept of Fast Fashion and from a fashionista’s standpoint...
