Sex up your open back outfits with stunning sustainable lingerie

With Christmas Party season just around the corner, now is the time to sex up your open back dresses and tops with some stunning lace lingerie. Given that most lace lingerie on the market is made from unsustainable fibres such as virgin polyester, virgin polyamide (nylon) or conventional silk, it can be hard to marry a sustainable lifestyle with an alluring look. There are, however, some pretty amazing sustainable lingerie brands out there as well - it's just a matter of finding them. Below are three of my favourite brands - and you might be surprised how stunningly sexy ethical and eco-friendly underwear can be! ANEKDOT Swedish/German Anekdot has been on my radar for a couple of years now. Using surplus stock fabric that...

How our long-term vision influenced our choice of packaging materials

As a small sustainable fashion brand, we love engaging with you, our customers, and getting feedback as it helps us tailor our products to your needs. This is also the reason why we were really happy to correspond with a number of customers recently regarding alternatives to the outer packaging we are using; our grey plastic mailing bags. It may sound strange that a sustainable fashion brand ships its orders in plastic, albeit 100% recycled plastic, and I would like to share the reasons why with you. You can read the full report here.  In a world full of greenwashing (the concept of fashion brands overexaggerating their efforts on sustainability in order to entice customers to buying their products), it is important to us to lead by example when it comes to transparency and honesty. For this reason, we are sharing...

8 ways we can #movethedate on this Earth Overshoot Day

Today, the 29th of July 2019, is Earth Overshoot Day, the day that we have used all the resources that this planet can regenerate in a year. Yes, it means that we need 1.5 planets to keep up with our current lifestyle. Eek. It’s the earliest Earth Overshoot Day so far since the Global Footprint Network started measuring it in 2006. At that time the date fell in October... Needless to say, this is far from sustainable and something must be done to move the date back. Fortunately, there are lots of things that we can all do to make a positive difference with little effort. Listed below are 8 ways you can help to #movethedate 1. Energy and heat –...

The inspiration behind our SU19 capsule collection

With an open mind, our surroundings are filled with influences from which to seek inspiration for a fashion collection. Some brands look to upcoming movies and music, other to architecture, reports from trend bureau’s or something else for inspiration. Because of our passion for protecting all the beautiful places on the planet, it is only natural that we, VILDNIS, find inspiration in countries with stunning scenery and a commitment to making the world a better place, socially and environmentally. For our Summer 19 capsule collection, we ventured to Denmark to seek inspiration, an obvious choice, some might say, since two of our co-founders are Danish.  I suspect that we would have eventually looked to the country of my birth regardless,...
