Organic linen is derived from the non-genetically modified flax plant. Unlike many other plants, flax prefers colder climates and prospers in Northern Europe. At VILDNIS we are fortunate to source our organic linen from a cooperative of small farms in France, where rain provides the primary water source and there is no exposure to chemical fertilisers, pesticides and insecticides. While flax fibres have a coarse texture initially, the mature plants are transformed into VILDNIS' uncompromisingly soft linen products using naturally occuring enzymes.
