ORGANIC LINEN
ORGANIC LINEN
Organic linen is derived from a non-genetically modified flax plant and is a natural and biodegradable fibre. Unlike many other plants, flax prefers colder climates and prospers in Northern Europe. It is one of the most sustainable fibres around and an eco-friendly alternative to cotton.
At VILDNIS we are fortunate to source our organic linen from small co-operative farms in France, where rain provides the primary water source for irrigation and there is no exposure to chemical fertilisers, pesticides and insecticides.
While flax fibres have a coarse texture initially, mature plants are transformed into VILDNIS' uncompromisingly soft linen products using naturally occurring enzymes, while maintaining a beautiful slub texture that adds life to any collection.
